About the VPN Leak Test
WebRTC leak: browsers can expose your real IP through WebRTC
even while a VPN is active. This check opens a local peer connection with no STUN servers and looks
for any public address it reveals.
IPv6 leak: some VPNs only tunnel IPv4. If your IPv6 traffic
exits through a different network than your IPv4 traffic, your real network is leaking.
Timezone: your browser's timezone can hint at your real
location. A mismatch with your exit country is informational, not proof of a leak.
DNS leak: if your DNS queries are resolved outside your VPN
tunnel (e.g. by your ISP's resolver), whoever runs that resolver can see every domain you visit.
Zero third parties: this test never talks to a third-party
server, not even for the WebRTC check (no STUN). Every request goes to a beeping.app domain — check
your browser's Network tab.
